Camp Arena: Art Instructors
Camp Arena Stage, Arena Stage’s multi-arts summer day camp seeks dynamic instructors to teach ages 8 to 15 this summer. Instructor plans and teaches four daily activities in their area of arts expertise. Instructor also participates fully in camp events and acts as a group leader to a small group of campers. Successful applicant is creative, has proven skills in engaging approaches in arts instruction, and has experience working with young people.
About us: Camp Arena Stage encourages the spirited pursuit of knowledge, self-discovery and joy through the arts, while providing the young campers a fun and safe environment in which to explore the world. Recreational activities, field trips, and impromptu performances round out the experience. The 4-week session culminates in an Arts Extravaganza with exhibits and performances showcasing the campers’ work. Learn more at www.arenastage.org/camp.
Salary: competitive, based on experience
Hiring for these Arts Disciplines
- Visual Art (especially 3-D art)
- Creative Writing (including newspaper, poetry, fantasy writing, performing work, etc.)
- Dance (musical theater, hip hop, jazz, modern, African, etc.)
- Filmmaking
- Animation
- Music (voice, production, composition, musical theater writing, etc.)
At this time we are not hiring for theater positions. A separate posting will be made if theater positions open.
Qualifications
Instructors must be able to plan and teach their own curriculum. Instructors are typically college graduates with professional experience in their arts area and/or education. Exceptions may be made for outstanding undergraduate applicants entering their junior or senior year. Undergraduates should inquire about counselor-in-training positions.
